Every day we are being renewed, and revitalized on a cellular level to the tune of 300 billion new cells! In the 2 minutes it will take you to read this article your body will have transformed 400 million cells. How does it do this without our even noticing? Quite simply by converting the energy that has been infused in our food with the energies of the soil, sun and rain, into the fuel that propels each one of our 100 trillion cells. And I should have said, “quite miraculously!”Cells need water, vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates and protein to produce the energy necessary for our bodies to function. The natural unrefined foods from the earth are the best able to supply us with the nutrients we need to maintain our healthy, active, lifestyle. Why is this? Food found in nature, is called ”whole” because it has all of it’s naturally occurring parts intact. Refined or processed foods do not. Some parts are missing and some parts have been added. These unnatural substances such as preservatives, taste enhancers, artificial coloring, fungus retardants, and bad oils build up in your cells resulting in premature aging and poor health. So “yes”, we are very literally the food, vitamins, supplements, and nutrients we eat! In fact eating has been called the most intimate human experience. Every bit of food you ingest becomes your skin, your hair, your body. Every muscle, bone and organ was originally food. Your nervous system, your brain, your immune system and your hormones----all food. When I used to look at a plate of food I would ask myself, “does this have the nutritional value I need to get me through my day?’ Now I ask myself, “Do I want this on my face?”If you are already living a healthy, active, lifestyle, your body is likely well tuned and telling you exactly the right things to eat and when to eat them. If you are not as of yet living the quality of life you desire. If your body is lacking proper nutrition you are likely unable to be as active or energetic as you wish, and you are most likely a slave to the wrong eating cycles. Suffering from decreased energy and sugar and carbohydrate cravings. Having been there myself let me assure all is not lost. The body is an engineering marvel! We can’t even comprehend all that it is capable of ackomplishing and overcoming. The good news is research now shows us that lifestyle and diet are far more important to your health than your genetics. Which means you are the one in control of your health. Take control, eat as if your life depends on it, it’s easier than you think to give your body the vitamins and nutrition supplements it needs. Good food makes good sense.
