Vitamins are the substances that combine with proteins in your body to form enzymes.  These enzymes help to regulate the bodies processes.  We need 13 vitamins for complete healthy function.

Many people who feel they are unable to eat properly due to hectic schedules or other circumstances hope that taking a vitamin in the form of a pill will solve the problem.  Wouldn't it be nice if it were that simple!  

In our fast-paced, toxic-filled world vitamin supplementation is one way to help our body get all that it needs to do all that it does .  It is not an exact science however.  Each person must be in charge of their own health and be responsible.  Never fool yourself into thinking that because you are taking a vitamin supplement you can eat irresponsibly.  That would be wrong. 

Vitamins are very helpful in preventing certain diseases and augmenting our diet in circumstances such as pregnancy and nursing, old age and illness and complementing our well balanced diet.  These are best able to help us when they are provided in their  "as-close-to-nature" state.
